Child’s growth and development contribute to shaping sexuality as adolescent to adult

Questioning how a child learns the value of human embrace; his body expression of freedom; how he learns to share his pleasure; how and from whom he learns to care and protect his body; how his curiosity does not cross the other’s boundary; all the vital questions and answers about children’s growth and sexual development is going to be discussed by a Gestalt therapist with her colleagues, sharing a common ground of experience, knowledge and respect around sexual embodiment.

Sexuality begins at birth and ends at death. Gender is based on social characteristics determined from biological characteristics of a human being, such as roles played in society, identity, expression and perception.

The body as a meeting place between personality and sexuality

Sexuality is a natural human function. It begins in infancy and it affects a human biologically, emotionally and spiritually through his whole life. It is the means for the perpetuation of the species, a source of joy and creativity. It is the base of communication in a couple and it is directly connected with the character and the personality of the individual. The modern way of life is an obstacle to sexuality. Body Psychotherapy helps the individual to gradually reconnect with the Embodied Self also through sexual fulfillment.

Living an embodied sexuality – a lifelong learning process

If we see sexuality, not only in the context of individual need gratification, but as a life-giving force that connects generations, our sexual love life has a significant effect on our environment and the children of the next generation.
In this round table I will present psychosexual developmental stages (based on Sexual Grounding® Therapy) as a lifelong learning and maturing process from conception until death. This approach aims to promote ripening, self-regulation and self-responsibility.
